Conditional Perfect Probability

"The conditional-perfect tense provided much help"

Then, as it was now and would
Forever have been never
Again, I should have wanted

To remove myself from there
In something like I had been
Used to using, cars and poems,

Vehicles for whatever
Was necessary to vent.
Could it have been otherwise

It would have been more like us.
Thus we would have been more like
What we were, not so much what was.
