The Soap

Sometimes meaning’s written about
In terms of aboutness, in terms
Such as intentionality,

Which come close to conflating it
With significance—what is this
All about? But information,

Whether inherent or read out
Like the label on this soap bar,
Like knowledge that this bar is soap,

And soap is all about cleansing,
And so forth, can’t encapsulate
All the meaning attention gives,

When you give the soap attention,
The bubbles that mean the cosmos
Is ephemeral, as you mean.
