A craziness of humans is
You rarely fear the powerful.
You mostly trust the powerful.
The monsters you fear are the weak.

Every fantasy story set
In a school for witches, a school
For mutants, a rebel stronghold
Of reality-warping freaks,

Is a clumsy allegory
Of monstrous disability
And disadvantage made sexy
By superpowers for the freaks.

Real freaks have no superpowers.
The seriously disadvantaged
Know no dark art havoc to wreak.
The monsters you fear are the weak.
