Our failure to remember
Our past lives is an intense
Form of our failure
To remember our lost dreams.
Our failure to remember
Our future is worse,
If only because we don't
Believe that failure failure.
We don't think we've forgotten
Our future; we think
Future hasn't happened yet.
We define it so.
And yet, we suspect our dreams
That we forget remember.
