Cyrus Cylinder

Yahweh and Marduk, shy gods
Hand in hand, bow before me,
Their sanctuaries restored.
Their modesty becomes me.

I am the philosopher
King you were imagining.
I can afford charity.

Dreams and portents heralded
My appearance in your world.
In size and respiration,

Consumption, defecation,
Yes, I've been another ant
Such as the twitched lot of you.
But in narrative I rule.
