Words Made Out of Men

He can be a you, an I,
One of them, or one of us.
She can be a you, an I,
One of us, or one of them.

But it can never
Be an I, a you,
Any one of us.

It needs a better pronoun,
A one that can be an it,
He, she, I, you, we, they, that.

That would be the right pronoun
For language as just language,
The one of a word that can
Say words may live; they can’t stay.
