I believe I live
In a notable absence
Of melodrama,
My everyday life unmarked
By the grand, tragic passions
And historical events
Needed to knock everyday
Life completely out of true.
I believe melodrama
Lives lives of its own,
Everyday existences
Parallel to mine,
In which the grand is mundane,
The quotidian insane.
