In the Casita, After the War

You could see the stars outside,
Shining fixed and eternal,
Eternally deceitful,
If you unwound my window.

Just a dozen weeks ago,
A cosmic collision came
And bent our world’s gravity

Just enough to make us look
In the correct direction
And see how uneternal
Celestial spheres can be.

Time shudders with vanquished light.
It only takes a second
To unwind eternity.
