Things Speed Up

"Actually, heat is simply
Our word for atoms moving,
Nothing more." The heat is on.
If you said, "forty-five years,
That's all," I'd have to cackle.
A fifty-two year-old fears
Ninety-seven more or less

As much as a seven-year
Old fears death at thirty-five,
Expects congratulations
Aforethought at having lived
To such an impressive age.
But I'm afraid I misheard.
Did you say "forty-five days"?
