Pleasure met Punishment

When they were still children.

Sometimes they felt like kin,

Or at least next of kin.

They followed each other

Everywhere. They finished

Each other’s sentences,

No matter which one did

The crime. Punishment thought

Pleasure didn’t deserve

To be punished. Pleasure

Thought punishment shouldn’t

Act so pleased. They never

Married, but no one lived

Who remembered them when,

So everyone assumed.

Most thought that they deserved

Each other, but who knew

What their relationship

Really was? Not even

Them. Punishment. Pleasure.
