Single Regret

Memories do not

Accumulate as stably

As possessions, so maybe

The people who collect stuff

Are more correct than fiddlers,

Idlers, and adventurers.

Of course, nothing is stable

In the sense of permanent,

But we must invest

Our given experience,

However haphazardly,

And some of us are intent

On doing it right. I wish

I remembered every night.
