Notched Box

I have never lived
In any name as fully
As I have lived in Utah.

I would never call it home,
But it has housed me,
Employed me, delighted me,

From its far corners
Through its central corridors,
Through all the ecosystems
It layers like cake,

The alpine meadows,
Solemn deserts, sunken lakes,
Mormon suburbs, dinosaur
Strata, roadside errata.
