Why wouldn’t they imitate
Each other, all waltz
Ratios all the way down?

The fact that we’re so gobsmacked
By any pattern
Deep or broad just tells us that

We’ve learned to expect mismatch,
Inexactness, and random
Arrangements to dominate,
When what we want’s solution.

What we get is confusion
Because only a devil
Makes a perfect match.
