There’s a kind of perfection
To Japanese whiskies, one
Friendly buddy of slurred speech
Opined to his new-found chum.
It’s like, you know, the saying . . .
Imitation is
The sincerest form . . .
He never finished the thought,
But how interesting to think
Of imitation
As attempted flattery.
I’ll tell you this. Every bow
Ever executed was
A means to usurp a throne.
