The Consequences of Luck and Effort

Favor more imbalances
Until wealth teeters over
Like a sand dune in the wind
And lets its contents vanish
Into the next dune over.
Humans scrutinize closely
These transfers of moving things.

We want to know, ideally,
To count precisely, the grains
Of sand. A dune's an hourglass.
Time is money, resources.
Canute may have wished to show
His weakness, but I could stand
On dunes to vanish commands.
