There was one rock,
Size of a house,
Perched on a slope,
The kind of rock
That would dare you,
Anybody,
To stand beneath,
Get beneath it.
Could slide
Any minute.
Could rest for years
Or centuries.
You watched that one,
Thinking the whole
Time, What a fool.
Someday, the rock
Would move, must move,
Hasn’t at all.
