Could be a body,
A bone still carrying code
Never before decoded,
Information that will change
Our future understanding
Of our distant past.
Could be a painting,
A circle of stones,
A flute carved from antler horn,
A tiny, stone figurine.
Could be scrolls stuffed into jars,
Sheaves of esoteric script,
Fables of magic rings found
In caves. It won’t be the rings.
