Lame Stranger

Embracing my path
Enthusiastically,
A bit too much so,

I’ve been known to bite the dirt
Of the Way, going my own
Way on the way to nothing,
Nothing much in the meantime.

You have your own path, they say,
More upright, not so reckless,
Not in appearance at least.

We’re the wandering apes, though,
Stalking, even those like me,
Who can hardly keep walking,
Keep the pace, keep a straight face.
